Yap Hup Lee is a Yong tau foo shop tucked in between rows and rows of printing shops in Pudu, Kuala Lumpur. Yong tau fu is a Hakka chinese food – YTF for short, is usually wrapped in Bean curd sheets or vegetables stuffed with pork or fish paste. They are deep fried and served crispy and are usually in bite sizes.
Yap hup lee has a large variety of yong tau foo from pork balls, fish balls, eggplant, spam wrapped in bean curd sheets, four angled beans and broccoli stuffed with fish paste and the list goes on an on. If you want to go wild, try the fried pork intestine.
YTF is usually best eaten with Chee Cheong fun. The Chee Cheong fun is lighty tossed in soya sauce or curry. The Chee Cheong fun here has a very smooth texture topped with Deep fried crispy fried shrimps.
