This week's London restaurant and hospitality news
Paradise Garage – Paradise Garage is a new restaurant venture from Robin Gill & his team behind The Dairy & The Manor in Clapham. The House of Ho is to open a second London site. The Modern Vietnamese restaurant by Bobby Chinn has acquired the Bam-Bou. The original House of Ho on Old Compton Street will be rebranded as ‘Ho’ later this year. Sexy Fish London, Richard Caring’s new pan-Asian fish restaurant opening in Berkeley Square this October. London Cocktail Week is coming – 5 – 11 October – 7 days of £5 cocktails across the city with a weeklong cocktail village in Old Spitalfields. The Fat Duck is on it’s way back to London. Pussey Liquor – Changed name to Platform 1. There was a fair bit of excitement surrounding Le Chabanais when it launched in Mayfair just a couple of months ago. Run in partnership with the team behind acclaimed Paris restaurant Le Chateaubriand, it promised to be a London sister site to one of France’s best eateries. But the critics weren’t won over, and the negative reviews soon flooded in — now the chef and his team from Le Chateaubriand have decided to part ways completely. The restaurant is currently shut due to a “gas leak”. When it reopens, there will, we suspect, be changes afoot. Fay Maschler & Jar Rayner, Tom Parker Bowls. Le Chateaubriand resides at number 21 in the San Pellegrino World’s Best Restaurants list. #BloggerBlackmail
