Tokotsu – opening on Bankside – New dishes exclusive to Bankside – Mazesoba – Thick noodles, intense broth, chili pork mince, pork belly and a raw egg to be stirred in. Clam Sakamushi – Clams and Shimeji mushrooms blanched in sake.Franks Cafe has been given another 5 years – now the search is on to find someone to manage the 6 floors below. They’re hoping for someone in the creative industries to create workshop space for budding businesses, affordable studios for local artists, and food and drink places to complement the existing bar on the roof. Applicants have until September to apply and the site is still earmakred for development.

Pestle – Seb Holmes, Head chef and Owner (Smoking Goat, Begging Bowl) Thom Lawson, Owner (Bar manager Caravan Kings Cross, Consultant for Croft Kitchen at Vagabond N7 and the forthcoming Stopfix in Haggerston). Sold out but next sting will be in Vagabond in Holloway Rd.

Florence Knight has left Polpetto in West London – closing for a mini relaunch and reopened this week more in the style of their current Soho Polpetto.

Redemption Bar opens this week in Notting Hill – This is London’s first alcohol-free bar, the only bar/restaurant in London whose menu has been designed by nutritional therapists.BossLady – at Forzawin on Sundays only – For 6 Sundays only Forza Win in Copeland Road, SE15 plays host to a noodle bar, brilliantly named BossLady.  Starting 9th August, an £8 ticket gets you a bowl of beef brisket noodles, which you can then customise with toppings, and there are also a selection of sides and drinks to buy.

Foxlow opening 2 other sites: Chiswick and Balham

Michael Hazlewood has been appointed as head chef at Antidote Wine Bar & Restaurant in Soho. The New Zealand born chef has worked at Attica in Melbourne Soif and Toasted in Dulwich.
