What better to eat on a damp Sunday morning than a fresh artisan donut. Or better still, a cronut.
The welcoming upbeat guys at Donut Boyz have just the thing for you. Located in a little black shipping container at West End Markets, the boyz can be found peddling sweet colourful rings of bliss. New to the markets direct from the Sunshine Coast, they fit in nicely and in the genre of fun sugary market treats, they seemingly have no competition.
I tried the Banana Caramel Cronut. Buttery flaky layers inside, ultra lush ripe banana filling and the all important not too sweet caramel, topped with a flurry of chopped macadamia nuts. If you find you have sticky caramel all around your mouth and face, it means you are eating it the right way. Don’t fight it.
Should I ever find myself stranded on a deserted island and a overboard shipping container washes up on the beach, I sure hope it is the Donut Boyz container. If you are only after a quick bite, I highly recommend picking up a great donut or cronut or both and the boyz will throw in a smile for free. Who knows, maybe even a hug.
