The best places in Prahran for your coffee fix
Journeyman Coffee

Journeyman Coffee / Dukes Coffee Roasters

The original and the best place for coffee. This used to be Dukes Coffee Roasters but very recently they moved their roasting offsite as they now have a few cafes and thus changed their name to Journeymen. The coffee is still fantastic and the food is top notch. Come for coffee but stay for the Aussie brunch!

Market Lane Coffee

Market Lane Coffee

Market Lane is a small, specialty micro-roaster and café, located in Prahran Market, Melbourne. The coffee is roasted fresh on site once a week and they run a seasonal blend and a few singles. Check out the Seasonal Espresso Blend on offer. Have a double ristretto piccolo – prepared to perfection; the first mouth taste was really florally and followed by a nice rich sweetness.

St Edmunds Cafe

St Edmunds Cafe

A small hipster cafe just off Chapel St – this is worth a visit while checking out the boutiques off the sometimes horrid main strip. Coffee here is rich, intense, and obviously pulled well on the Synesso. The single origin from Debello Ethiopia is brilliant as a short black.

Hanoi Hannah

Hanoi Hannah

Like your Vietnamese fusion with in a cool setup where you can eat and drink on the footpath as you would in Hanoi? The setup is very kitch but they have pulled off something not many in Melbourne have been able to do. Think semi-traditional oho, rice paper rolls, banh mi and Vietnamese street food.

Parlour Diner

Parlour Diner

You can get dude food anywhere in Melbourne these days but Parlour takes you old school. A short selection of burgers, hot dogs and fried chicken go down a treat with a mega thick shake or beer. Strongly suggest getting takeaway and head down to Chapel Street Cellars for craft beer goodness

Chapel Street Cellars

Chapel Street Cellars

If I could afford to buy Chapel Street Cellars I would and then charge double what they currently cost and pump out some food. Until then I suggest you go in – pick a few beers from the fridge and drink them in or out the front of the shop for cost price. The husband and wife team are great to chat to if you want to find out more about what to drink.
