The Notting Gill Chippy Pop Up
When? 1st August – 29th August 2015
What is it? From 1st to 29th August 2015, Kensington Place has opened The Notting Gill Chippy, the restaurant’s very first fish and chips pop-up. Located on Kensington Church Street, adjacent to the main restaurant, the pop-up will tempt Londoners and tourists alike with Chef Tim Peirson’s novel interpretations of the best loved of British classics alongside old-fashioned fish and chips dishes.
Who’s behind it? Kensington Place is a D&D London restaurant, located in Notting Hill, with a focus on seafood and a relaxed neighbourhood vibe. D&D London stands for CEO Des Gunewardena and MD David Loewi who led the buyout of Conran Restaurants in September 2006. The company has been backed by leading UK equity house LDC since April 2013 and owns and operates over 30 leading restaurants in London, Leeds, Paris, New York and Tokyo.
Size? About 20 seats
What’s on the Menu? They’ll be serving up classic and twisted versions of your favourite fish and chip shop dishes, including beer-battered scampi, fish and chips in a curry-spiced batter with mango chutney and lentil dahl, a seriously decadent lobster thermidor-stuffed doughnut (a lobster thermi-bun… geddit?) and the greatest fish finger sandwich you’ll ever try, alongside craft beers and exclusive cocktails.
Trading Hours: Tuesday – Friday 12-15.00 / 18.30-22.00. Saturday 12-16.00 / 18.30-22.00.
