What is it? POP-Down is a brand new interactive dining concept, created by luxury gastronomy experts, Cuisson, which promises to deliver inventive, high-end dining at affordable prices with a menu that is full of surprises and sure to leave guests in awe.

Who’s behind it? The Cuisson team, who collectively trained in some of the world’s top restaurants (The Fat Duck, Galvin at windows, Le Gavroche, The Square, Maze and Adam Simmons).

Size? 38 covers

What’s on the Menu? the POP-Down menu fuses classic French cooking with modernist techniques. Cuisson has injected an element of playfulness into many of the dishes, to create a sense of wonder throughout the experience. The menu will change monthly ensuring POP-Down is constantly fresh, new and innovative.

Social Wine & TapasSocial Wine & Tapas

When? June 9, 2015.

Who? Laure Patry, who has worked with Jason Atherton for over 10 years, heads up Social Wine & Tapas and has been an instrumental part of all the restaurants opened by The Social Company.

What is it? A bar and restaurant offering quality, rare and fine wines accessibly priced alongside a tapas and snacks menu, created by head chef Frankie Van Loo (formerly Social Eating House).

Size?  Set over two floors, the ground floor houses the wine shop and tapas bar, which has an open kitchen with a dining counter; banquet seating for up to 9 covers, and an elevated wine tasting table for 10. Down a narrow staircase leads to a basement wine bar, a second tasting area, a corner bar and a preparation kitchen counter.

What’s on the menu? Jason Atherton and head chef Frankie Van Loo have developed a menu of modern tapas style dishes, made with the best of British produce and reflecting London’s vibrant food and drink scene. Dishes on the menu include ‘jamon, Manchego and truffle toastie’, ‘heirloom tomato salad with burrata, basil and gazpacho dressing’, ‘seafood and rabbit Spanish rice’ and ‘crème Catalan with orange’. In addition to the tapas menu, a seasonally changing selection of cheeses and charcuterie are served via the basement kitchen counter.

 What is it? Masala Grill is a true community restaurant where authentic Indian craftsmanship meets modern design in an informal, yet eclectic setting. Drawing on the roots and soul of Indian cuisine, the menu has been curated from real home cooking, street food favourites and lively Grills.

Who’s behind it? MW Eat own and run three fine dining restaurants, Amaya, Chutney Mary and Veeraswamy, as well as Masala Grill, their latest restaurant concept, and several Masala Zone informal dining restaurants.

What’s on the Menu? Chicken Sixer, Crispy Squid, Green Peas Tikki Chaat, a selection of Grills – Tikkas, King Prawns, Lamb Chops, Sea Bass, and Lamb Shank. Poppy Seed and Mustard Chicken Korma, Kerala Green Chicken Curry, Palak Gosht, and unusual Indian Desserts.

£40 per head for a two course meal including wine & service. 12.5% discretionary service charge.

What is it? Launching this July in the new Alphabeta development on Worship Street, EC2, PizzaBuzz will encourage pizza-lovers to work their way down the statement curved service bar, customising everything from the base to the deli meats and shellfish, tasty veg, and specialist cheeses to create their ultimate slice of pie.

Who’s behind it? Barnaby Meredith, owner and managing director of The Meredith Group with gastro-pubs such as The Portman, Marylebone and The Only Running Footman, Mayfair.

What’s on the Menu? Bacon Jam with Balsamic, Wild Rock Shrimp marinated in garlic, Rucola, White Figs, Aubergine, Fontina or Pecorino Romano topped pizzas.
