If Dante was kicking about now, he’d have one look at the London summer, take a deep breath and exhale “damnnnnn”. The pollution, the hellfire Bakerloo Line commutes, the park drinking. One of the plusses is day festivals… apart from the £28 tins. GALA is a belter, though. It’s in Brockwell Park and there’s a genuinely eclectic selection of food and booze stuff and a line-up of top international DJs, including Nicky Siano and Horse Meat Disco.
Taking place on Sunday 28th May (Bank Holiday Weekend) GALA is set to kick start London’s summer, The independent food will be taken care of The Joint, Kricket, Bill or Beak plus Chicken Shop, Kerbisher and Malt and more filling the festival to feed the whole of London.
Glastonbury’s The Beat Hotel will look after the bars, with Brixton Brewery, Brick Brewery and Canopy Beer supplying only some of the liquids on offer.
