This event holds a special place in our hearts as it was the first wine event we decided to check out when we arrived back in Australia last year. London has a few vineyards around Cornwall and Ashford but nothing on the grand scale of what we are lucky enough to have Down Under. It was the perfect time to introduce WordMonkey to decent Aussie wine - not the rubbish we would find in the bargain section in Tesco or Sainsburys.
The New Generation Hunter Valley crew are a group of up and coming wine makers looking to make their mark with their own method and style. This yearDavid Hooks (David Hook Wines), Andrew Thomas (Thomas Wines), Rhys Eather (Merrea Park), Nick Paterson (Mistletoe Wines), Mike D Iuliis Wines and Andrew Margan (Margan Wines) – all from the Hunter Valley - are getting in the Breaking Bad* Caravan of Courage to set up shop for one night only Pop Up Wine Bar in Melbourne. Do note that it is ‘Pop Up’ and ‘Secret’, as the location will only be made available to ticket registrants a week prior to the event taking place on 19 April 2012.
Tickets are only $30 and include the chance to try over 24 of the best Hunter wines and to also meet the names behind them.I urge you to get involved as the event last year was a resounding success and all for less than the cost of three average glasses of wine.
